All it takes it getting to understand what it takes to build a six pack, committing to it and getting moving in that direction. A six pack can be yours and it can happen sooner than you may expect.
Know What a 6 Pack Is
A 6 pack is the look that is achieved when the abdominal muscles are well defined and there is little fat in the belly area. This comes with a trim and fit body.
The 6 pack is made of the three sets of ab muscles and by having strong back muscles. In order to build a six pack you must reduce your belly fat and build up these core muscles. This is done through diet and exercise. You can not achieve a good 6 pack look without both building the muscles and reducing the fat.
Get Rid of the Fat
As mentioned you have to get rid of the fat. You want to reduce overall body fat and especially body fat in the stomach area. To do this you need to combine a good diet with aerobic exercise.
You should try to work out aerobically five times a week if you really want results. It is usually recommended to workout three times a week but fort maximum fat burn work out more often.
You also need to cut out all the bad things from your diet. Stop eating fat, sugar and salt. You should also lower carbs and try to stay within the recommended daily allowance. This should put you on the fast track to losing weight.
Work your Abs
You also need to work your ab muscles. You have to focus on working all three ab muscles and strengthening your back. Most people neglect their back but it is important because your back muscles support your abs and help keep them tight.
A great exercise to work your back and abs at the same time is the plank. To do the plank you get in a push up position and lower your body so your forearms are resting on the floor. You hold this position while keeping your stomach tight and your body in a straight line. It is hard, but effective.
6 pack abs can be yours alright but it will take hard work, determination and motivation to get you to your goal. You will need all the support you can get.

Going on a crash diet is not how to get six pack abs. Trying a diet that eliminates a certain necessary food group to lose weight quick is not the way to do this, either. In order to get six pack abs, you have to eat a healthy and balanced diet along with exercise.
Pilates
Pilates are stretching exercises that concentrate on working individual core muscles. You can use these to get six pack abs if you work on them every day. Pilates have gotten good press recently as an effective way to exercise, especially when it comes to six pack abs, but they have been around for quite some time. They were first used by dancers but are now taught in many gyms and home study classes. People like using Pilates to get six pack abs because you can do less of these exercises than floor exercises and get good results. But they have to be done correctly to get six pack abs.
If you want to know how to get six pack abs, you need to follow the above advice as well as have the true desire to get six pack abs. Eating right and exercising are essential parts of achieving this goal. Once you have it in your mind to get six pack abs, which are well defined muscles in the abdomen, you can do so if you simply follow a plan and stick with it.

Everyday people email me to get the answer to the age-old question of “What are the best core abdominal workouts for ripping tight six pack abs?”
Unfortunately the answer that I give has not changed….and the answer is None! There is not one single ab workout that in isolation will create enough of a metabolic response in your body to promote fat loss.
You can imagine since I am a personal fitness trainer, nutritional guide and fitness professional I am always being approached by people asking what the “best types of exercises and workouts are for losing stubborn stomach fat.” Or… What are the most effective stomach workouts in order to bring out visible six pack abs?” The problem with this is that most of the time, people with excess stomach fat are looking to try to uncover their abs via some “miracle fitness program that focuses just on abs” that is going to slash the fat off their abs in no time flat.
So back to the most highly asked fitness question…What are the Best Core Fitness Workouts that Promote Six Pack Abdominals?
The thing is… they are going about the problem entirely the wrong way! The truth is that you don’t lose stomach fat or get ripped six pack abs by doing ab workouts.
When you spend your energy doing abdominal exercise after abdominal exercise, crunch after crunch with hopes of flattening your stomach and bringing out those sexy 6-pack abs; you are simply wasting your time and energy. What you should be doing is the correct workout program that will actually reduce your body fat for ever.
If I were to choose an answer as to what the best exercises are for losing belly fat, my answer would probably surprise the ’sit-up’ out of you. On the top of the list you would find exercises such as the following:
various forms of squats, lunges, deadlifts, clean & presses, snatches, swings, presses and pulls, mountain climbers, sprinting, etc.
Back when I spent hours training people on the one-on-one personal training level, I would entail much of the above mentioned moves in my clients workouts. I almost always would design fully body workouts such as listed above instead of abs exercises directly targeting the midsection.
However that’s not the final answer…The way you combine those full body exercises into a strategic workout that maximizes your metabolism is also very crucial.
Don’t get me wrong… I do recommend a certain amount of exercises that directly target the abs and core, but these are only a small fraction of the programs I design for my clients as your time is better spent focusing on the full body exercises that stimulate the greatest hormonal and metabolic changes within the body. You know what else is really cool about doing these full body workouts that I teach? In addition, to actually working the larger muscles such as your chest, back and legs; you also will have the opportunity to tone your arms (triceps, biceps, and shoulders) as well as “GUESS WHAT?” …..YOUR ABS!
Nutrition is without a doubt the “king of getting a six pack”. I have heard it said that six packs are baked in the kitchen and not in the gym.
So let’s clear this up for good…
Stop wasting so much of your time focusing on sit-ups, crunches, leg raises, and all those silly worthless “abs contraptions” in your efforts to try to develop 6-pack abs. Instead focus on high intensity full body lifts using combination multi-joint exercises all strategically combined into highly effective fat loss workouts. If you add the right fitness plan that is not necessarily geared towards losing belly fat, but geared towards building lean muscle and you also focus on eating to support your workouts and allow your muscles to grow, then you will burn belly fat!

In short, to get six pack abs, you need to get leaner and develop your abs’ musculature. This is done through training and nutrition. The topic of nutrition is covered extensively elsewhere on the net: I won’t delve in it.
Training-wise, to build six pack abs, you must combine cardio exercise, weightlifting, and abdominal exercises. All three are important, and to really get results you must do all three.

Cardio comprises long, slow cardio and interval training. To get six pack abs quickly, the best approach is to do both. Since interval training is better than long, slow cardio, if you’re short on time, do interval training only.
Abdominal exercises can be divided according to which area they put the emphasis on. All exercises activate the whole abdominal region, but each one targets a specific area more than the others. They can put the emphasis on the upper and middle abs, the lower abs, or the side abs.
So where do we go from there? Well, to sum up, to get six pack abs you need good nutrition (covered elsewhere) and effective training (including cardio, weightlifting, and abdominal exercises). Cardio comprises long, slow cardio and interval training, whereas abdominal exercises can target the upper and middle, lower, or side abs.
The web has a few good sources of information on these topics-I mentioned some. But searching the web is a hassle.
